Pain Relief
in New York
Delivering potentially life-saving care to your pet is important to us. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, we go above and beyond to serve our patients and clients with the best care here in New York. To ensure your pet recovers as fully as possible from their injury and/or surgery, we offer the gentle and cumulative healing of laser therapy. Dogs and cats experience pain from injuries and surgeries just like we do. They deserve to have relief from their discomfort to make their recovery easier, so they can return to a healthier and more normal life as soon as possible.
Laser Therapy
Our therapeutic laser does not require drugs or invasive techniques to help your pet. It simply uses low infrared light beams that are absorbed through the skin and muscle tissue, and which penetrate deep into affected areas to repair damaged cells and promote healing.
The procedure itself is gentle, and for some pets, it can be quite relaxing as well.
What to Expect from Your Pet’s Treatment
The nature of your pet’s condition and their response to treatment will dictate the amount and frequency of therapy they will need. Pets with acute conditions often do well with just one treatment session, which might last 10-20 minutes. However, if your companion is experiencing a chronic issue, they will likely need multiple treatments each week, which will then be gradually spaced out as your pet’s condition improves.
Primary Benefits of Laser Therapy in Dogs and Cats
The goal of laser therapy is to provide the following for your pet:
- Faster and more thorough healing
- Pain relief
- Reduced swelling and inflammation
- Increased blood circulation
- Improved mobility

- Post-surgical care
- Infections
- Burns
- Lacerations

Regenerative Therapies
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Treatment
PRP is a non-surgical and advanced means of providing high doses of the body’s own healing factors directly to the area where they are needed.
PRP is blood plasma that contains concentrated amounts of platelets and growth factors. A sample of blood is collected and processed in the clinic to allow same day treatments. Additional PRP not used in the initial treatment can be stored for up to 90 days at the clinic. This allows additional treatments/injections from a single blood sample. The number of injections obtained from a sample varies on the size of the patient and the number and type of treatment being performed.
PRP can be used to aid in many ailments including, topical wound healing, degenerative joint disease, hip dysplasia, and soft tissue injuries.
We also advocate utilizing PRP in conjunction with our orthopedic surgeries to aid in healing and decrease inflammation.
Stem Cell Therapy (including harvesting and banking)
This innovative treatment uses your pet’s own natural healing cells to reduce pain and inflammation while promoting tissue repair, offering hope for pets suffering from chronic conditions.
Stem Cell Therapy can benefit dogs and cats with various conditions including:
- Arthritis and degenerative joint disease
- Hip and elbow dysplasia
- Cruciate ligament injuries
- Post-surgical healing support
- Chronic allergies
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Other inflammatory conditions
Is your pet a candidate?
- Chronic inflammatory symptoms
- Pets may benefit from stem cell therapy if they show:
- Difficulty rising or reluctance to jump/climb stairs
- Limping or reduced activity levels
- Stiffness, especially after rest
Polyglycan Gel Injections
Polyglycan (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) gel injections is a proven therapy designed to support joint health and enhance mobility in dogs and cats suffering from osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease.
Polyglycan works by promoting cartilage repair, reducing inflammation, and improving the quality of synovial fluid that cushions your pet’s joints. This injectable treatment helps slow the progression of joint degeneration while providing relief from pain and stiffness.
Whether your pet is recovering from joint injury, managing chronic arthritis, or showing early signs of joint problems, Polyglycan injections can be an effective part of their treatment plan. The therapy is typically administered as a series of injections, helping restore comfort and improve your pet’s quality of life so they can get back to doing what they love.
Adequan
Adequan injections are an FDA-approved disease-modifying treatment specifically designed to combat canine osteoarthritis and protect your dog’s joint health.
Adequan works at the cellular level to inhibit destructive enzymes that break down cartilage while stimulating the production of healthy joint fluid and cartilage components. This dual-action approach not only relieves pain and inflammation but also helps rebuild damaged cartilage and restore joint function.
Ideal for dogs with osteoarthritis or joint injuries, Adequan therapy involves a series of injections that can significantly improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and slow disease progression. Many pet owners notice their dogs moving more freely and returning to their favorite activities after treatment.
Dietary Supplement Regimens
We offer joint supplements such as Dasuquin, a Veterinarian-formulated joint health supplement that combines glucosamine, chondroitin, and ASU (avocado/soybean unsaponifiables) to provide advanced nutritional support for your pet’s joints.
Whether your pet is managing arthritis, recovering from orthopedic surgery, or receiving regenerative therapies like stem cell treatment or PRP, Dasuquin provides the nutritional foundation joints need to heal and thrive. This daily supplement complements medical and surgical interventions by supplying the building blocks necessary for cartilage repair and maintenance, helping maximize treatment outcomes and support your pet’s mobility for years to come.
Nutritional Support as Part of Complete Care
While injections and surgical procedures address immediate joint concerns, nutritional support works continuously to nourish and protect joint tissue. This complementary approach gives your pet the best chance at sustained comfort and improved quality of life.
